Checking In.

We have settled in to 2010 quite nicely here in FullerTown. The Mayor and Town Manager have cast a vision that would make any Town Council proud.

(Don't you just love how I speak of our household as if it were a real place on the map?)

Good.

We are currently without a working camera here in FullerTown. We do have one that works intermittently and right now it is on the blink. I am so sorry there will be no pictures coming from FullerTown in the near future because there is some major cuteness going on around here.

We are in the midst of Upward basketball and cheerleading. If you would like to see this action you will need to contact the Town Manager for a schedule.

All I can say is that our short-legged Luke has made us proud.

And, our Anna Brooke is cracking the shell of shyness.

Sarah Belle cannot wait until the Fall when it will be her turn to get in on the action!!

Paul is still content sitting on Daddy's shoulders.

He has the best view of anybody.

Don't you just love upward! Katy has had a real "ball" being a cheerleader. Although she now thinks basketball looks like more fun :)

I enjoy reading your blog Laura. It is great to keep up with you, Patrick and the kids :)

Happy Birthday Paul!!

On Valentine's Day 2007 Patrick and I decided that we would not get each other a gift. This was the first time we had made such a deal. I did pick up a card for him and filled it out. Valentine's Day was on a Wednesday and we really didn't see each other much until after church that night. He came home exhausted. We had our little family of five all together in the Family Room and I handed him his card. I had signed it the way I usually do with an extra note on the very bottom: P. S. Baby Boy due to arrive in September. (Now, I didn't know for sure he was a boy, but I had a feeling) Patrick FELL INTO THE FLOOR!! Fast forward 7 months. Hello There! There is something that has bothered me for years. I have begun to do better, and encouraged others to change their ways. This is it... Why do people almost always compliment little girls on their appearance first? Little girls are held to a higher standard in regard to their appearance and little boys are held to a very low standard regarding their behavior. This baffles me. I know you've heard it, probably even done it.  What's the first thing most people say to a little girl? "You're so pretty!" "Your dress is so pretty!" Why not compliment how compassionate & respectful she is because you just witnessed her let an older person get on the elevator first? Brave because you see the band-aid on her arm from a doctor visit? Smart...maybe she has a book in her hand! Funny...did she just tell the best joke you've heard all week? Creative...does she have an ornate hairstyle?  Or an outfit you would have never ...
