The 100th Post

Well, folks, this here is the 101st post here on FullerTown . We have come a long way since July 2008. I never dreamed there would be so much happening here in FullerTown . I remember the day I joined the blog world vividly. I had many friends' blogs in which I read on a daily basis and thought it would be so much fun for me to share our lives with the world wide web. But a blog has to have a catchy name!! After about 2 minutes, I thought of FullerTown . I set it up, added some photos, posted the first story and called Daddy to tell him all about it. Thank you for joining us. Come back and see us.

Knit pants won't work

This little exchange just in from FullerTown . The Mommy is upstairs straightening the beds after much jumping on them and tidying things a bit before going to pick up the big brother from school. Big Sister: When are you going to take a shower ? Mommy: I already did. Big Sister: When are you going to g et dressed? Mommy: I am dressed. Big Sister: No, you're not. Mommy: What do you mean? What would you like for me to wear to go get Luke? Big Sister: JEANS, A PINK SHIRT, PANTIES, A NECKLACE, EARRINGS, LIP GLOSS , AND SHOES!!!! It's a wonder I can do anything for myself.

Date Night with Paul

Paul and I are home alone again [Sunday] tonight. He doesn't feel so well. We had a lot of time on our hands yesterday [Saturday] afternoon also. So, we went to run a few errands. First stop was Lowe's Home Improvement. The item we were shopping for was quite disappointing. Not what we had hoped for. Then to Target just to look around. We found some Christmas gifts on the Clearance shelves. Paul was getting antsy when I spotted the cutest apron. (I can't find the picture online. So sorry.) Now, I have not ever been the apron-wearing type unless I am in the kitchen all day or wearing something I don't want ruined while cooking. But, I would wear this apron every day, even while I pour Luke's Fruit Loops! Here are the matching towels. And the napkins . And more kitchen towels . And the oven mitt . I just might have to ask Peter Cottontail for an Easter basket this year!! (Then we went to the grocery store and saved $28.)

Pushing Buttons

Yesterday, I took my sick self to the doctor. And, since it was after lunch and I didn't know what time I would be finished I drove the truck. I have always loved driving or riding in the truck. It is the first brand new vehicle that I could say was mine. Even though it is Patrick's. I loved how I could see around the next bend in the road. I could see OVER the car in front of me. This opened up a whole new way of driving to me. (I also loved the bench seat so I could ride right next to my love. Now, Luke sits there with the other little Fullers fill up the back.) (Part of the reason I am not so sure about having another baby is that we won't all be able to fit in the truck.) When Patrick came back to college after Spring Break driving a new truck, I was stunned. We were to be married in just 3 months. Neither of us had any post-college jobs lined up yet; you just imagine my worry of how we going to PAY for this vehicle. But we did. By the grace of GOD. You must know, that

Big Brother

Paul is a very good baby and usually will play in his crib for about 10 minutes before becoming unhappy. This gives me a good window of opportunity to go and get him. I am thankful. A few weeks ago, I heard Paul wake up from his nap. I heard him playing and thought to myself Just as soon as I get a chance I will go and get him out of the crib. In a very few minutes he came scooting downstairs with the biggest grin on his face. I thought to myself: How did you get out of your crib ? I was stunned. A second later, Luke came bouncing down the stairs saying, "MOMMY, I GOT PAUL OUT OF HIS CRIB!!! HE WAS AWAKE AND WANTED OUT SO, I JUST GOT HIM OUT." I wondered how in the world this was accomplished. Late last week, I heard Paul wake up again and asked Luke if he wanted to show me how to get Paul out of the crib. I followed and took the camera so I could capture it. I must say, this has been a huge blessing for me to know that Paul isn't being dropped on his head. Th

Growing Up

Image
Anybody who knows my sweet Anna Brooke knows she is tall to be only four years, two months old. When we venture out into the public, people ask quite frequently, "Are they [Luke & Anna Brooke] twins? I smile and say, "No, they are 19 months apart." And then I think, Twins would have been easier. Except the part about the possible Caesarian section. Now, I've obviously never had twins although I've wanted them. All my life. Since I learned where babies come from. Stay tuned... Anyway, it has been 56 days since Christmas. As always, Anna Brooke received many new outfits for Christmas and her birthday. All were very cute. Some were sizes that the giver thought would be too big. They were thinking she can wear them next year too. Well, letmetellyou something. She is growing!!! This has been especially noticable in how her clothes fit. In this photo, she is on the washing machine. She is trying to reach something on the shelf while I folded the laundry. She is we

So Proud

Friday before last was the Award Ceremony at Luke's school. He received an award for having Perfect Attendance for the 2 nd quarter. He received the same award for the first quarter. He was very proud of himself. And he should be. Then, yesterday, he received the award for Student of the Week for all the Kindergarten classes. He was awarded a prize from the cart in the Principal's office. Well, this is a big treat, I tell you. He chose a paddle ball toy. You know, the paddle with a ball attached via a piece of elastic string. Within a half hour of arriving home it was broken. Since he didn't get to enjoy it for a full 24 hours I told him I would buy him another one. Tomorrow. Today, we picked Luke up from school and upon turning out of the school he reminded he that I promised him a trip to the Dollar Tree to pick another prize. I knew we could handle it. Everyone going into the store and only one coming out with a prize. So, I gave Luke $1.07 which he pla

Funny Weekend Happenings

Image
I am terribly sorry for not giving a FullerTown update in over a week. It has been a very busy week around here. I will share some funny things that have happened. There is never shortage of funny here. 1. Yesterday, at church, a lady asked me what shade my hose were. She said something like, "Your pantyhose are just so natural-looking." I wasn't wearing hose. My freshly- shaven legs were as natural as it gets. 2. This morning, I went to get Paul from his bed. He normally wakes up and plays in his bed until someone comes to get him. This morning, I didn't hear him playing. He typically will throw everything out of his bed. The pillows, the toys, the blanket, everything except himself. This morning, when I arrived on the scene, everything was on the floor, including his diaper !!! 3. Our girls are becoming more and more like best friends. They play together so well. Last night, they were playing like one was the Mommy and the other was the sister. Then they would swi

Baby Pictures

Image
Anytime a new baby is born there is the proverbial quesion: who does she/he look like? We all know the best way to tell who the baby looks the most like is to get out the old baby pictures. So, while at my parents' house for Christmas I retrieved my 2 favorite pictures of myself as a child. This photo was taken aound the time I was 18-24 months old. Mom may correct me. This is actually my favorite photo of myself as a little Fish. You actually can't see the best part: I was wearing hunter green corderuoy pants. I was very cute. Here is another when I was a little older. I think I was about 4. I took ballet for one year. I remember vividly doing my little dances at the recital in the auditorium at what is now the Middle School of my hometown. I cried because I left my doll backstage. We performed 2 dances. One with the tutu worn all the way around our waists and the other with the tutu only in the back. Again, very cute. So, which of my girls looks the most like me? (Anna Brook

Imagining

Anyone who has been around FullerTown very much know the little Fuller's love of Berenstain Bears . There is one episode when there is a spring fling kind of gathering. Papa and Mama Bear are supposed to dance for the entertainment at the Spring Fling. The problem is that Papa is very busy building the stage for the event. Brother Bear has to be a stand-in so that Mama can practice. Another problem is that Brother does not want to dance. Mama comes up with a solution!! She tells Brother that he can imagine: he is not dancing, he is practicing his sports moves! So, Brother doesn't mind assisting Mama with her dance practice. We had a little imagining session around here this evening. Out of the blue, Anna Brooke crawls up in Daddy's lap and says, "I'm gonna be 15 and I'm gonna have a car and Barbie keys and a boyfriend and we're gonna go on a date!" So Luke says, "When I'm 16 I'm gonna have a big Duke-blue truck with Duke keys an

Icy Day, School Project and a question

Image
1) Yesterday there was no school due to a thin layer of ice on the streets here around FullerTown . It was an interesting day with all of the little Fullers around. We had to use our creativity to keep from getting bored. So, we had an indoor picnic lunch! I packed every one's lunchboxes and spread out the special 'cover.' They enjoyed themselves. Paul was on the move so he is not in the picture! 2) Luke brought home a note last Friday informing us that he needed to make a 100 th Day Project. Now, I will admit, I had no idea what a 100 th Day Project was. The teacher did send home a half-sheet of poster board. I do know that since I was in Kindergarten a celebration of sorts has evolved to acknowledge the 100 th day of school. So, I had an idea of what this project was about. I do, however, feel shafted that there was no such thing as a 100 th day celebration during the 1983-84 school year. I really would have enjoyed that special snack of self-made trail mix containi

A bird!!! A bird!!!!!!!!

This is going to be a long story but you must know every little detail! This evening all of a sudden Sarah Belle complained with her ear hurting. So, I gave her some medicine. She was screaming and I was trying to get her to sleep. We went and laid in 'Daddy's bed.' She wanted to come back downstairs. So, we came downstairs. Daddy was going to go outside and bring the rocking chair in off of the porch so I could rock her. When he opened the door a bird flew in the house !!! He ran in the Family Room and put the rocker down and said, "You have to come help me, there's a bird in the house!" (Remember, I am trying to console a screaming baby.) I gently put her down and went into the foyer. There was a little brown bird on the floor right by the front door. I said, "Wait a minute. I'll get the broom and get him out." In the meantime, the bird flew up and perched himself on the pendant light in the foyer that is about 15 feet off of the fl

Open House 2008

Image
I know this post is about 7 weeks late, I will explain. Right after the Christmas Open House my old, seemingly broken camera was lost. Then, I received a new camera for Christmas. Then, I found the old camera. Now, the new camera has some issues. Are you confused yet? Good. So, I uploaded the 236 pictures from the old camera when I found it. There were some real treasures there. Anna Brooke's birthday pictures. Open House pictures. And, a guest photographer! Those will be posted tomorrow. Anyway, here are my favorite Open House pictures: Men in the sunroom Sarah Belle and her friend G playing in her room: This was especially funny to the little Fullers: This is really cute. E sitting at the table with a bunch of really cute ladies. I promise he's not in the market for a new wife. He and Mrs. B are as happy as the day were married 60+ years ago!! Have a Happy Monday!
