Crackin' Up!!!

Let me catch you up on the happenings of FullerTown . On Friday afternoon, the GOP Vice-Presidential candidate was announced. So, I discover that my husband is turning into my Daddy! FOX News stayed on the TV all afternoon. The children begged to watch Clifford, but, "No, this is history in the making. We are watching the news today." I will not go into all the details of the conversations because this blog's purpose is not political. We had dinner with friends on Friday evening. It was really nice and the food was delicious! On Saturday morning, we were having our carpets cleaned. All the furniture had to be moved, so this was a late night ... and early morning. Then, on Saturday evening, we had an appreciation dinner at church for all of the Sunday School teachers. We are cruising down 40 Business when the Suburban dies!! We coast to the side and sit. Patrick said, "I'll call Pastor Matthew to come get us in the little church van." So, that conversation g

Preschool Open House

Last night was Open House at WEE Love Academy. All the teachers have done a wonderful job preparing their classrooms for another school year. The most amazing thing has happened. All of the teachers are also teaching the corresponding class in Sunday School!! So the teachers have the same classrooms and some of the same students in both Sunday School and WEE Love Academy. This is so cool to me. Everyone loved meeting their soon-to-be peers and there were lots of fun times. Anna Brooke was sad that Paige & Reagan were not there. They are her twin friends from last year. They are going to a new school this year. We are all sad. Sarah Belle enjoyed playing in a new room with new toys. There were lots of things for her to explore. Paul had a fun time being with all boys in his room. Yes, there are three little boys in the one-year-old room! That is going to be lots of fun!! Please be in prayer for WEE Love Academy. We offer a high-quality program of Bible learning and Ki

Last Night & Another First Day

OK, bear with me. I have to write about 2 different things that are mildly related. They could be two different posts but my brain cells are dying exponentially as I type so here we go: Last Night Last night as I was typing the entry about Luke's first day of Kindergarten, I was...um...shall I say...under the weather. It took nearly an hour to enter that post. Well, about bedtime, one of the Fuller children joined me...under the weather. This caused much dismay around FullerTown . Mommy was out of commission. And a little Fuller needed her. But never fear, Daddy was here!!! He stepped up to the plate so graciously and helped the situation better than I could have. He assisted me several times and changed the bed & jammies of little Fuller three times throughout the night. Now, the upstairs smells like...YUK. Make that DOUBLE YUK!!! I think we will elect him to another term as Mayor of FullerTown . He is an AWESOME DADDY. Enough about that. Another First Day So, this morning, M

The First Day

Image
The first day of Kindergarten has come. I will describe the whole day as best I can. Last night, Luke was so excited he could not go to sleep. It was almost like Santa Claus was coming this morning. He was just lying there wide awake. He finally went to sleep around 9:30 p.m. This morning, I was ready when I got him up. He was slow to move but he did get up after tickles. He didn't eat very much breakfast. He already had his clothes picked out so getting dressed was easy. He was excited to get his hair spiked and quick to brush his teeth. We were ready to leave at 7:30 a.m. but we had to take some pictures. Here is one for you to see: Then outside: We got into the truck and he was silent. He was just looking out the window. As we backed out of the driveway Daddy stood on the porch and waved. I think I saw tears in his eyes!! Due to heavy traffic, it took 20 minutes to travel the 5 miles to the school. I parked and he got out, grabbed his backpack, lunchbox and then my hand. We wa

Kindergarten Open House

This afternoon we accompanied our firstborn to Kindergarten Open House. He was excited to wear his new (longsleeve) clothes and sport his freshly trimmed & spiked hairdo. He jumped out of the Suburban and wanted to hold both of our hands as we entered the building. Gasp. His class is the third one on the right, Ms. Henry and her assistant Ms. Colbert. Both are quite lovely ladies and seem to have a calming, quiet spirits. The classroom was beautiful and very colorful. Luke found several things that excited him. He met 2 of the students that will sit at his table, Amara and Caitlin. Both are darling. Then we went to the Library, this was his idea. We found the Clifford and Berenstain Bears books. Both were my favorites at his age. He found several he wanted to check out. He is bound to be a good reader! The school was all abuzz with activity and laughter. Many students were visiting their teachers from last year. This was a good sign I thought. The big day is Tuesda

What Happened?

Two things have happened today: First, Patrick walks in the house about 2:00 p.m. (surprise, surprise!! He is hardly ever home before 5:30 p.m.). His dress shirt is ripped along the front from the second button all the way down to his waist. He was meeting some friends for lunch and when he slid into the booth the shirt caught on the corner of the table. It ripped all the way down the front as he slid into his seat. If you know Patrick, you understand how funny this is. I so wish I could have been there to see his face turn purple!! He said that he could barely eat he was so embarrassed . Fortunately, this is the gray dress shirt that I have not cared for since he bought it. I have already thrown it into the garbage can with a smile!!! Second, shortly after Daddy left to finish his workday I heard something break. I walk to the Dining Room where Anna Brooke and Sarah Belle were standing looking at the shattered crystal glass on the carpeted floor. They look dumbfounded. The

Move Over Rembrandt & Van Gogh!!

Yesterday afternoon, Monday, I was upstairs finishing up my afternoon chores and playing peek-a-boo with Paul under the bed when Luke ran up the stairs. "Mommy, the girls are painting black on your road!" You know, the piece of plywood that I have been working on for about 3 weeks now; painting it so the children at WEE Love Academy can set up a town on it and play make-believe. I have anticipated watching them play already. It was ready for the final touches of lines on the road and then it would be done. Well, my passive-aggressive Anna Brooke apparently climbed up the white shelf in the garage to reach the black paint that was used to paint the road. She then squeezed a large amount out onto the "road." Sarah Belle joined in on the fun. Anna Brooke put some paint in Sarah Belle's hair !!! I went ballistic and back. I instructed Anna Brooke to not touch anything and go straight to the bathtub. I scooped up Sarah Belle and up the stairs I went trying

Daddy's House

Yes, it is Sunday afternoon, so I only have one minute to tell you something. When we go to church on Sunday mornings we sing all the way there. All the songs the children know so they can join in. When we come around a certain curve in the road we get a full view of our beautiful church building sitting up on the hill. Everyone starts yelling, "Look what I see: Southside !" or "I see Southside : my church!" This morning, Sarah Belle came up with a new one. She said, or yelled rather, "I SEE DADDY'S HOUSE, THERE'S MY DADDY'S HOUSE!!!!" It was too cute for two reasons. First, she knows and understands that her Daddy goes to work at the church building. Since he spends a lot of time there, in her two-year-old mind it is her biological Daddy's house. Then it hit me: This is my Daddy's house! Daddy is just a more casual term for Father. The Israelite children witnessed their Father actually inhabiting the movable Tabernacle.

It's Official

I am now a Kindermusik educator! ( Kindermusik.com ) This required a very intense 12-week training including conference calls and online chats. There were also DVD to watch and critique, LOTS of reading and homework exercises, and weekly posts to an online forum. I will teach the ABC Music & Me classes at WEE Love Academy. I will also teach one week camps during the summer months, next summer. I received a really nice certificate in the mail today. It will be framed and hung next to my college diploma in my office. I am very proud of myself. One a side note: Luke has discovered Jell-O. He loves it. Anna Brooke likes it. Sarah Belle does not like it. Paul doesn't care for it either.

We Are Still Here!!!

Yes, I know, it's been awhile since FullerTown had a newscast. I have been so busy getting ready for WEE Love Academy to start and life in general has been hectic as of late. So, I will update on everybody's latest antics. Luke has turned Paul's closet into a car. Yes, a car. There are two storage bins and a plastic child-sized dinner plate involved. The medium bin is the front seat and the large bin is the back seat. You guessed it: the plate is the steering wheel. When the car arrives at its destination, the car/closet door opens, the bins get rearranged and the car goes someplace else! This is too cute, especially when all four ride along. Luke also went for his Kindergarten screening on Monday. I confirmed he was nervous when I had to pull him out of the Suburban. I did not expect this from him. Then when it was time for him to go into the classroom with the teacher, he cried! I certainly did not expect this! He was allowed to choose a prize and then was willing to go.
