Cooking Class #1: Gravy
A while back I asked you if you would like for me to do a tutorial of sorts from time to time and share some of my favorite recipes. Well, after much preparation, here is the first recipe.
Every Southern wife needs to know how to make gravy, and especially on a Sunday. I remember standing at my Mom’s black Tappan stove and watching her stir the grease, flour and such to make this wonderful Southern sauce.
According to Sarah Belle, this is how you do it:
Use a pot that has been soaking overnight and is half full of murky water.
Then, dump about 2 cups of plain flour into the pot. In order to reduce the lumps caused by quick greeting between the flour and water, use the pasta server to stir them out!!
Last, but not least, enlist the help of someone else to clean up your mess!
