Funny Sayings, part 1

Luke has gotten into this 'funny' stage. He thinks the quirkiest things are hysterical. There are 3 things in particular that totally crack him up. I will share these 3 days in a row.

(That is, if the creek doesn't rise and keep me from the computer.)

The first is: "Ahem," said the man.

Let me explain.

Luke brought home a book from school that he could keep. I'm really not sure where it came from but it was in a little pouch attached to a handmade bear. He doesn't care for the bear but he thinks the book is hilarious. It is entitled, Toby and Tess. All in all, the book is about sorting. At the end, Toby & Tess go with their Father to the garbage drop-off place. The Father put a water bottle in the yard waste container. Since the car's engine was running, the Father couldn't hear Toby & Tess trying to tell him he put the water bottle in the wrong container. Finally, an attendant comes over.

"Ahem," said the man.

And Toby & Tess's father put the water bottle into the correct container.

And there you have it.

So if you want to get a great, big grin out of my firstborn, say to him:

"Ahem," said the man.
